Ellen Tufts Studio is an independent textile and textile design studio founded by Ellen Russell.

Elaine specializes in creating delightful and tactile textile art pieces for both domestic and commercial interior spaces. Whether it’s crafting small wall hangings to add color and texture to a room or creating immersive large-scale fixtures to move an audience, they follow the same fun approach.

In this exciting two-day workshop, local textile artist Eileen Russell will introduce you to the wonderful world of weft – a weaving process in which threads are pushed through fabric using a machine tool to create a rug effect.

Students will learn the basics of how to use a tufting gun and create their own small rug or wall-mounted tapestry artwork (60 x 60 cm)

OhSoRetro is accelerating its ninth year with more than 1,500 classic and modern vehicles on display.

The event in Palm Bay on September 25 will feature 50 club stands, about 20 show and shine awards as well as trade and autojumble plus live music from 10am to 3:30pm and entertainment.

The OhSoRetro Show takes place at The Rec on Palm Bay Avenue on Sunday, September 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Entry is £10 at the gate. Under 16 years old free of charge with a fully paying adult.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

There is a disabled car park in the first part of the exhibition grounds. Show your blue badge to the Marshal upon arrival. Reverse Green is also available for all-day public parking in exchange for a donation of £2 which will go to charity.

Show and Shine awards and raffle draws take place at 3.30pm. All proceeds from the raffle go to the 1st Margate Boys and Girls Brigade.

Minster walks “What’s a Tree” with Peter Hasted

The church square is full of tree life, so it’s best to start, before heading to the monastery to explore how the trees became such an integral part of this historic site.

Margit Caves: Go Create: An Introduction to Handcrafted Pottery (September)

September 25, 10 a.m. to noon, Margate Caves in Northdown Road

Make your own mug, bowl, vase or ornament…

During the session, you can work on your own small bowl, cup, vase or trinket box and you will be taught simple board and scroll building techniques as well as basic surface decoration.

Your two best pieces will then be fired and polished to the color of your choice (depending on differences in the glaze itself), available for assembly approximately 4 weeks later, and available for collectible from Margate.

This workshop is suitable for adults and children, but all children must be accompanied by a paying adult. There is an additional charge if you want to cut more painted and glazed pieces – smaller pieces are usually an extra £1-2. Medium cuts any cup size from 3 to 4 pounds

What to wear: Guests generally don’t get rid of the mess and mud takes away the dust but feel free to bring an old T-shirt to protect your clothes.

Fish Out of Water is a fresh, family-friendly outdoor dance show that uses hip-hop, interactive sculpture, and responsive music to explore themes of belonging, otherness, displacement and migration.

Follow the dancers as they find themselves in a strange new place and help them overcome strange and colorful obstacles. By the end of the show, you can help them build a house in a new place and show that whatever challenges we face, we are stronger together. free
