2022 Rolls-Royce Phantom Design and Features Upgrades
Rolls-Royce calls its improved luxury car the Phantom 2 Series. The appearance of the new Phantom has been very subtly modified and has not significantly changed the look and feel of one of the world’s most famous luxury cars.
At the front, the revised Rolls-Royce 2022 Phantom features a new horizontal chrome strip that sits atop the vertical slats of the massive front grille and matches the luxury sedan’s LED daytime running lights.
The vertical slides are now lighted units, which should help floaters learn about the updated Phantom. Speaking of the headlight, it now features a laser-etched pattern quite similar to the one you see on the starlight headlight liner in a sedan.
Other major design changes come from the outside in the form of new wheels. Rolls-Royce Phantom introduces a set of new 3D milled stainless steel wheels that feature a two-tone finish and a slightly sweeter appearance.
A new set of stainless steel wheels is also offered with a retro-disc design that is said to be inspired by those seen on Rolls-Royce models from the 1920s. These new disc wheels are offered in either a polished or black lacquered steel finish for a more stealthy look.
For those looking for a more discreet look, Rolls-Royce offers customers the option of a darker grille, hood, and window trim.
The changes inside are more subtle with a thicker steering wheel as well as more options for art gallery and decorating. Plus, as always, Rolls-Royce will allow customers to customize their cars according to the heart’s desire to make it truly one of the luxury sandals on the road.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II marks the arrival of “Rolls-Royce Connected”, the luxury brand’s new connected car feature suite. This allows for some additional smartphone connectivity features in the Phantom VIII facelift including the ability to send directions to the navigation system remotely and access to the vehicle’s current location and condition through the Rolls-Royce Whispers app for owners.
To celebrate the arrival of the new 2022 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series 2, the automaker has revealed a special one-off version of the car called the Phantom Platino. Phantom Platino is inspired by platinum. The bespoke vehicle features a design inspired by precious metal on the outside and inside. The Phantom Platino also features a rear seat that is upholstered in fabric rather than leather and uses ceramic trim.
2022 Rolls-Royce Phantom – Unchanged Mechanical
Under the metal, the improved Rolls-Royce Phantom remains unchanged. The luxury limousine continues to draw power from a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine that produces 563 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. A six-and-a-half-liter V12 sends power to the rear wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds and reach an electronically limited speed of 250 km/h.
