Brabus P 900 Rocket’s 900-HP V-8 Makes the Ford Raptor R Look Poor

  • The Brabus P 900 Rocket Edition is a heavily modified Mercedes-AMG G63 that features a pickup truck bed and a very angry front hatch.
  • The 900 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque are fired from the 4.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 through a nine-speed automatic transmission, with this brick able to hit 62 mph in 3.7 seconds.
  • The interior features Rocket Red accents and lots of black leather with “Seashell Diamond” stitching pattern.

What would you buy if all your friends own Ford Raptor Rs and Ram 1500 TRXs and you want to stand out? The latest innovation from German aftermarket tuning company Brabus would be a great choice – along with its superior design and massive power output, the P 900 Rocket Edition will also be limited to a production run of just ten units.

The P 900 Rocket Edition is based on the conversion of the Brabus XLP pickup truck for the Mercedes-AMG G63, with a large square four-door cab and short bed. This beast is powered by a twin-turbo 4.5-liter V-8 that makes 900 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque, and that is channeled through a nine-speed automatic transmission. That’s enough oomph to launch this rocket to 62 mph in a claimed 3.7 seconds and to a top speed of 174 mph.

The P 900 Rocket Edition has a mid-looking single cup, with plump vents in the fender and a carbon fiber front splitter with red end panels. The carbon grille also includes stripes with red markings and is even red backlit at night, creating an ominous, bloodthirsty look. The bold front end is covered by the “PowerView” hood, again made of carbon fibre. The fender flares have also been redesigned with prominent carbon-weave vents, and here’s more carbon fiber adorning the tailgate, which sits above a small rear diffuser.

The exhaust valve-controlled side-exit valve – covered in carbon fiber with red ambient lighting – is said to make “earthing sounds”. Owners may want to be careful with their right feet if they find themselves in one of California’s six cities with automated camera exhaust noises enforced, or at least the adjustable sound management set to “Coming Home” mode. The P 900 pickup rides on massive 24-inch Monoblock Z “Aero-Disc” wheels, which are connected to an aluminum coil-over suspension that can adjust the ride height by 1.8 inches.

The cabin is just as crazy as the outside, with plenty of black leather featuring a “diamond seashell” stitching pattern, which extends all the way down to the feet. “Rocket Red” accents appear on more than 206 interior components, such as the air conditioning vents, seat adjustment controls, gas and brake pedals. The cabin also, of course, features its fair share of carbon fibre. There’s no word on the price of the Brutal Brabus innovation, but we expect it to cost more than $500,000.
