CATL Energy Storage Solutions Shine at ees Europe 2022

CATL’s cutting-edge products were showcased in the exhibition cover application scenarios for power generation, transmission, distribution, and power consumption. EnerOne, BESS’s outdoor liquid cooling system, won the ees of the year award for May 10. Equipped with 280 Ah LFP cells, the main product has a life cycle of up to 10,000 cycles, long service life, high integrity and a high degree of safety. The temperature difference between cells can be controlled within 3°C, which is a big improvement over the industry average of 5-8°C. The floor area is only 1.69 square meters, 35% less than traditional air cooled products, suitable for transformers with operating voltages ranging from 600 to 1500 V. Meanwhile, its modular design enables it to adapt to a variety of application scenarios.
To meet market demand for all-weather energy storage applications, such as extreme temperatures, high humidity, desert and ocean, among others, CATL developed the innovative EnerC, a liquid-cooled battery system. With IP55 and C5 corrosion protection, EnerC is able to meet the requirements of various harsh climatic conditions, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the entire system for 20 years. Supported by the industry-leading highly integrated liquid cooling design, its power density can reach 259.7 kWh per square meter, nearly 200% more than conventional air-cooled systems.

In terms of power consumption, EnerU, CATL’s leading pioneer of UPS applications, offers a ground-breaking solution to replace standby lead-acid batteries with environmentally friendly lithium-ion ones. Overcoming the high resistance of LFP materials, EnerU’s 6C solution achieves high power performance and a high degree of safety at the same time. In addition to safety at the cell level, EneU also ensures its safety at the system level through mechanical methods and thermal insulation materials. In the case of single cell thermal escape, there is no thermal diffusion to neighboring cells.

in ees Europe In 2022, CATL also exhibited 48,100 battery units for base stations, which are characterized by small size and light weight. Backed by the largely safe LFP cells and 3U modular design, the product has greatly improved the space utilization and service life. The 48100 base station can accommodate up to 16 battery packs, and the number of packs can be flexibly adjusted to meet different system backup time requirements, making it compatible with multiple application scenarios.

Apart from displaying its latest battery products and technologies at booth B1.440, CATL also shared innovative insights and ideas on the future of energy storage with its industry peers at the Intersolar Forum.

2021 sees a rapid development of CATL’s energy storage business as it ranks first in global energy storage battery production for the first time. CATL has partnered with high-profile Chinese energy companies including China National Energy, SPIC, China Huadian Corporation, China Three Gorges Group and China Energy Engineering Corporation as well as major international players in the industry such as NextEra, Fluence, Wartsila, Tesla, Powin and Schneider Electric and Eaton apply advanced energy storage solutions in key markets including ChinaAnd United StateThe United kingdomAnd GermanyAnd Australia, etc. In the future, CATL will join forces with more partners to advance the energy transition and contribute to global efforts for carbon neutrality.
