FX Summer 2022 premiere dates and series details

FX has announced its summer release schedule, with the network’s primetime lineup set to include five new shows and three returning series. Four of the shows will premiere on FX or FXX and then broadcast on Hulu. The remaining four will air exclusively on Hulu.

The announcement of premiere dates was accompanied by details of the eight series launching before Labor Day.

Descriptions of series and cast lists:

old man Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Thomas Berry, old man Stars Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman. The Old Man focuses on “Dan Chase” (Bridges), who fled the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid ever since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take out Chase, an old agent learns that to secure his future he must now come to terms with his past.

With Dan Chase pulled out of hiding, FBI Assistant Director of Counterintelligence “Harold Harper” (Lithgow) is called to stalk him over his complicated past with a rogue fugitive. He works alongside his protégé Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat) and CIA Special Agent Raymond Waters (EJ Bonilla). When Chase’s capture proves more difficult than the authorities expected, Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a highly trained private operations contractor, is sent to pursue him as well.

While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe MacDonald (Brenman) who relies on reserves she didn’t know she had in order to survive the day she learns the truth about her new tenant. He also co-stars in the drama series Bill Heck, William Loubani and Big Fahdat.

The bearThe bear It follows Carmen “Carme” Berzato (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the world of fine dining, who returns to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland – after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmi must balance the soul-destroying realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and rebellious kitchen crew and strained family relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother’s suicide.

The bear It’s about food, family, the madness of grinding, the beauty of a sense of urgency, and the steep, slippery sides. As Carmi struggles to transform The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, he works alongside a fickle kitchen crew who eventually materializes as his chosen one.

In addition to White, this half-hour comedy stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, and Liza Colón-Zayas, with Edwin Lee Gibson and Matty Matheson in recurring roles.
