How small changes can help reduce bills

With the head of Ofgem, the UK’s energy regulator, warning that annual home energy bills are likely to rise by another £800 when the price cap is revised in October, RGB Building Supplies is giving advice to local households on cost-effective changes they can get. Fixing drafts is one of the cheapest and simplest jobs that can be done to conserve energy.

If the radiator is warm at the bottom and cold at the top or makes a gurgling noise, it needs to bleed. Bleed radiator switches are very cheap and can be obtained from most construction or hardware stores.

Install energy-saving shower heads

Energy-efficient showerheads restrict the volume of water flowing through them, without reducing pressure.
