Inside the new Chicken + Whiskey location across the Nationals Park

Chicken + Whiskey, Logan Circle’s popular destination for Peruvian poultry and brown liquor, has just unveiled a D.C. location right across from the Nationals Park.

The sprawling southeast site, located at the foot of the new Jair Lynch apartment building (70 N Street SE), is from Maryland-based Star Restaurant Group (Doi Moi and The Walrus Oyster & Ale House).

Chicken + Whiskey debuted in 2017 along the bustling 14th Street NW sector, where Venezuelan chef Enrique Limardo (Seven Reasons, Immigrant Food, Imperfecto) sends out slow-roasted chicken for 12 hours.

In contrast to the original’s narrow design—a chicken hinge in the front, and a whiskey-and-vinyl wall behind the refrigerator door in the back—Chicken + Whiskey puts two items side by side in Navy Yard with retractable garage doors that run the length of the front.

The 4,100-square-foot space comes with a prep and production area in the basement, making it about 1,000 square feet larger than the original.

Pollo a la brasa starts at $10.49 for a quarter chicken and comes with two sides, including beans, french fries, sweet bananas, and queso noodles. The cassava-covered chicken strips, served with a choice of aji amarillo or homemade barbecue sauce, are also a bestseller.

The Navy Yard Front is open daily from 11 a.m. until late 2 a.m. on the weekends and serves cocktails such as the Bitcoin Becky vodka and Kool-Aid Caliente with tequila, blue curacao, and a passionate raspberry chacho made at Chacho. Location. For a quick stir, there are pickles, homemade spin on fireball, and peanut butter and jelly whiskey shots.
