Reynaers invests in multi-million pound extension to demonstrate growth

Having experienced significant growth in recent years, Birmingham-based aluminum sector specialist Reynaers Aluminum UK has invested several million pounds in expanding its UK headquarters to improve lead times and future-proof business in line with its growth strategy.

Work on the project began in July 2021 and was successfully completed in June 2022, now increasing the warehouse space to 95,000 square feet. Foot. It means Reynaers can now hold about 40% more stock to match its customers’ changing requirements for aluminum windows, doors and facades. Site improvements will also help improve the building’s thermal performance and contribute to Reynaers’ ambitious sustainability goals.

Director of Technical Services John McComb said: “We have always planned to expand the building, but have brought those plans forward by about three years due to continued significant growth.

“We generally do not stand idly by as a company, particularly when it comes to improving our products and services to clients. Whether they work in the domestic or commercial sector, we do our best to ensure that we support clients as much as we can from the initial inquiry, through design, specifications and project construction. We accept that an essential part of this service is managing customer expectations and ensuring that we take continuous steps to improve our efficiency.

“The building extension plays a key role in improving efficiency. This will enable us to increase the size of our warehouse stock and selection of faces by seven hundred – an increase of over 46%. This will help us reduce our lead times and will prove our future ability to meet demand in the coming years.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our operational and warehouse teams who were instrumental to the realization of the building extension. They ensured that we were able to operate safely and successfully as the work progressed – a testament to the agility and resilience of our team.”

In addition to customer benefits, the expansion project has allowed Reynaers to make significant improvements to the care facilities for its warehouse staff, providing new centrally located restrooms, canteen facilities and a designated rest area. The building now also has the advantage of a covered loading and unloading area to provide shelter for workers in the area and to protect materials.
