as such real simpleMy Shopping Editor, I’m always discovering stylish or smart new products to include in stories, many of which end up in my shopping cart. And there were plenty of stylish finds, like the mixed plates and the high-top, that caught my eye this year.
These Amazon finds have been some of the most used items in my wardrobe, kitchen, and beyond. Much of my shopping has been devoted to home and kitchen items since I moved to a new place, but some fashion and beauty items were on the list as well. And nearly all of these products editors love are under $50.
Like many who move into a new home or apartment, I have been eagerly searching for pieces of furniture and decor to make it feel special. For several months this year, Amazon has been one of the few retailers with furniture in stock and ready to ship, and that’s how I found the comfortable and stylish mid-century modern Rivet sofa that I chose for my living room.
The simple yet elegant sofa arrived a few days after I ordered it and came with free delivery to my room of choice. I’ve had it for several months now and can’t stop raving about its affordable price and classy look. I also love the deep, plush seat cushions that make movie nights and entertaining friends more comfortable.
I’ve been shopping for my new kitchen a bit too. The hybrid pot bowls I’ve been hooking for about months are still one of my all-time favorite finds – and they’re on sale now. And Libby’s small glass bowl with lids is perfect for serving and dipping snacks, nuts and candy and then storing – you name it. I like that I don’t have to dirty another plate or bowl to store something I’m nibbling on, like homemade pesto or fresh strawberries.
The cast-iron quesinelle skillet was another useful item in the kitchen. There are plenty of great cast iron skillets and cutlery sets, but I love that this skillet comes with a lid, which makes it great for recipes that require stovetop and oven cooking. I put the silicone knob lids and pan scraper on to use right away.
And earlier this year I gifted this cast iron Dutch oven to my mom, and she can’t stop talking about it. It’s a great alternative for those who want the look and function of a high-end Dutch oven without the high price tag. She used her elegant ivory lid for baking bread, making soups, preparing casseroles, and more. And they can’t believe they don’t retail for hundreds of dollars.
My wardrobe has also benefited from product testing and research I did this year. To my surprise, this simple shirt became my new favorite. The $18 piece comes from the affordable Amazon Essentials collection, and features fun little sleeves that make it look a little higher than a basic T-shirt, but with the same cozy feel of a tee. It comes in eleven colors, but the bright pink gives you an extra fun and unique feel.
And I almost never leave the house with this canvas N/C bag. The roomy bag has enough room to hold essentials with room for a book and a water bottle. It’s great for running errands or packing a picnic lunch for on-the-go enjoyment. The shoulder strap and criss-cross strap ensure that you can wear it in a multitude of ways, making it a workhorse you’ll reach for all the time.
