Trex® Tops Builder Brand Usage Study with Category Survey

Winchester, Virginia, May 12, 2022 (The Globe Newswire) – Trex Companythe world’s largest manufacturer of high-performance alternative wood trim and partitions, has swept once again Builder Magazine’s Annual Brand Usage Study. This is the fourth time in the study’s 15-year history that Trex has received top honors across all measured criteria for the Composite/PVC Decking category. The brand also outperformed all other brands in the deck fender category as well, cementing its unparalleled prominence and preference among the trade professionals.

The annual Builder Brand Use Study measures builders, developers, and contractors’ attitudes toward products they know, use, and trust. The findings of this year’s study are based on input from more than 850 construction professionals, who number 15y Respectively, Trex was voted #1 for “brand familiarity”, “brand used within the last two years”, and “most used brand” in the composite/PVC decking category. Trex also received top honors for the same standards in the deck fender category. Additionally, Trex received the highest score for “product quality” among the 27 composite and PVC decking brands included in the study.

Composite/PVC Decking Category

  • Trex has the highest score (5.78) in the product quality category
  • Trex was cited by 87% of respondents as the brand they are most familiar with
  • Nearly two-thirds (64%) indicated that they have used Trex panels in the past two years
  • Over a third (38%) cite Trex as the decorating brand they use the most

Notably, Trex is almost twice as named as its closest competitor as the grooming professionals most use.

  • Forty percent (40%) indicated that they have used Trex fenders over the past two years
  • Nearly 20% cited Trex as the fender brand they identify and use the most
